The fifth part of Bullet Proof Blogging takes a look at what social media sites you should use if your trying to increase traffic to your blog. There are a massive array of social media websites that are now available however there are still the top bunch which bring in the largest amounts of traffic.
- Stumble Upon - A social media site that I use quite regularly, I have seen massive benefits in using this social media website for networking as well as increasing traffic. You can also add me as a friend here.
- Delicious - Delicious is a great social bookmarking website which allows you to bookmark your favourite websites or web pages.
- Digg - Digg allows you to submit your own news stories, web pages or websites so that others can discover yours.
- Twitter - Twitter is a slightly different type of social media website which follows the idea of finding out what people are up to. You can use this to network with other Internet marketers as well as advertising your latest blog post or website.
- Reddit - Reddit posts user generated links similiar to Digg and works on a voting system where more popular links are those that are voted more.

- Yahoo Bookmarks - Allows you to import bookmarks and organise them into folders.
- Google Bookmarks - Similar to Yahoo Bookmarks, you can save and share bookmarks and use web history to find sites that you visit frequently.
- MyBlogLog - A networking system that I use frequently, it allows you to add friends, create communitys and promote content as well as plug in with other social networking sites such as Twitter.
- Propeller - A news website where you are able to control which articles are at the top and which are at the bottom using a voting system.
These are just a sample of the vast range of social media websites available on the Internet. I advise that you don’t just concentrate on one social media site and instead spread your marketing efforts among 5 or more of these social media sites. I would also advise people to research and check whether or not there are niche social media sites for your market, if so definitely join these ones and take advantage of the more targeted and select few that will be active.
If your looking for ways to use more than one social media website at once then I can recommend two sites these being;
PingFM -This site allows you to post to a wide range of social media sites with a single message.
FriendFeed - Allows you to build up custom feeds for your friends you can also plug this in with Twitter so that it automatically updates your Twitter account aswell.
